St. Jakobus Catholic parish church
Am Martplatz, 65385 Rüdesheim am Rhein
The Church of St. James in the marketplace dates back to the 14th century and is said to have been built by Knight Johann Brömser.
The tower is topped by a weather vane featuring a crescent moon and star, commemorating the Crusades in which the knight took part. After being almost completely destroyed in 1944, it was rebuilt using Rhenish rubble stone masonry. Noteworthy are the medieval portrait tombstones of the Rüdesheimer nobility as well as the Gothic tympanum.
