The original seat of the aristocratic Lorcher von Hilchen family dates back to the 16th century. It was built for the former Imperial Field Marshal Johann Hilchen between 1546 and 1548. Von Hilchen’s only daughter inherited this magnificent building with its monumental façade and unconventional bay window. The family maintained it for generations, before the
house risked falling into disrepair. Today the tourist information centre and a small wine store are located on the second floor.
